About Onfon Media

Onfon Media is seeking talented and motivated IT Support Specialists to join our growing technology team in Dar es Salaam. This is an exciting opportunity for IT professionals with experience in API support, Linux systems administration, software support, and entry-level software development.

The successful candidates will play a key role in troubleshooting technical issues, supporting software applications, maintaining APIs, and ensuring seamless system operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for software applications and IT systems.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain RESTful and SOAP APIs.

  • Monitor, manage, and support Linux-based environments.

  • Diagnose and resolve system, database, and application issues.

  • Support software development and deployment activities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions.

  • Assist in database management and performance optimization.

  • Document technical issues, resolutions, and support procedures.

  • Ensure timely resolution of support tickets and service requests.

Qualifications and Requirements

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in:

    • Computer Science

    • Information Technology

    • Software Engineering

    • Or a related field

Technical Skills

Programming Languages

Experience in one or more of the following:

  • Python

  • Node.js

  • PHP

  • JavaScript

API Support

  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining RESTful APIs and SOAP APIs.

  • Knowledge of API testing and integration tools.

Database Management

  • Working knowledge of:

    • MySQL

    • PostgreSQL

    • SQL databases

Operating Systems

  • Experience working with Linux operating systems and server environments.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in software support, technical support, or software development.

  • Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.

Essential Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies.
