Selcom Microfinance Bank Tanzania Limited (SMFB), previously operating as Access Microfinance Bank Tanzania, is a fully licensed microfinance bank regulated by the Bank of Tanzania (BoT). Established originally in November 2007, the institution underwent a major strategic rebranding in June 2024 after Selcom Paytech Tanzania Limited acquired a majority stake in the bank. Headquartered in Dar es Salaam with a branch network extending to key regional hubs like Mwanza, Kahama, Tabora, Mbeya, and Iringa, the bank’s primary mission is to foster financial inclusion across the country by serving micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) as well as unbanked retail traders.

extensive fintech infrastructure and independent network of point-of-sale (POS)
terminals, the bank specializes in digital-first banking and accessible credit
solutions. Its core offerings include traditional savings and checking
accounts alongside flexible micro-loans ranging up to TZS 35,000,000 designed
for small businesses without hefty paperwork requirements. Additionally,
through its integrated Selcom Pesa platform, the bank provides
instant, fully digital short-term facilities like Jisoti Loans (up
to TZS 2,000,000) directly to users’ mobile wallets, effectively blending
traditional micro-lending with modern mobile-money ecosystem capabilities.

- Bachelor’s in Computer Science,
IT, Data Science, or related field
Science
- Strong Python and SQL skills
- Experience with ETL pipelines, big data
environments, and cloud platforms (e.g. DigitalOcean)
- Power BI / Tableau / Metabase experience
- Fintech/telecom background is an added
advantage
