About Community Wildlife Management Areas Consortium (CWMAC)

The Community Wildlife Management Areas Consortium (CWMAC) is the national umbrella organization representing all Authorized Associations managing Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) across Tanzania. Established in 2010 and registered under the Societies Act, CWMAC represents 24 member WMAs across the country.

The organization’s mission is to empower Wildlife Management Areas to sustainably manage natural resources, protect biodiversity, enhance conservation efforts, and improve social and economic benefits for local communities.


1. Partnership and Fundraising Officer Job at CWMAC – Dar es Salaam 2026

Job Summary

CWMAC is looking for an experienced and innovative Partnership and Fundraising Officer to drive resource mobilization, establish strategic partnerships, and secure financial support from international donors, conservation foundations, development agencies, and private sector organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising and Resource Mobilization

  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies and identify new grant opportunities.
  • Lead proposal development, concept notes, donor applications, and funding submissions.
  • Build strong relationships with bilateral agencies, multilateral institutions, and conservation partners.
  • Ensure high-quality donor reporting and compliance with funding requirements.

Partnership Development and Strategic Communication

  • Manage relationships with donors and strategic stakeholders.
  • Develop compelling impact stories, reports, and communication materials.
  • Support the development of the CWMAC Conservation Trust Fund.
  • Represent CWMAC in donor meetings, conservation forums, and networking events.

Required Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Environmental Science, Business Administration, International Relations, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum of four years’ experience in fundraising, grants management, or resource mobilization within NGOs or international development organizations.
  • Strong proposal writing, donor management, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Swahili with excellent computer literacy.

2. Policy and Advocacy Officer Job at CWMAC – Tanzania 2026

Job Overview

The Policy and Advocacy Officer will serve as CWMAC’s legal and policy expert, supporting organizational governance, legal compliance, conservation policies, and advocacy initiatives affecting Wildlife Management Areas.

Main Duties

  • Provide legal advice to management and the Board.
  • Draft and review contracts, agreements, constitutions, and legal documents.
  • Support conservation policy development and government engagement.
  • Strengthen legal governance among CWMAC member WMAs.
  • Assist with the establishment and legal framework of the Conservation Trust Fund.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must have:

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university.
  • Valid Tanganyika Law Society (TLS) Practicing Certificate.
  • At least four years of legal practice experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Tanzanian laws related to conservation, land, employment, NGOs, and governance.
  • Excellent legal research, communication, and advisory skills.

3. Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Job at CWMAC – Dar es Salaam 2026

Position Summary

CWMAC seeks a highly analytical Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer to design and manage Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) systems, ensuring evidence-based decision-making and effective conservation programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop MEL frameworks, indicators, and data management systems.
  • Conduct data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Prepare donor reports and support grant proposal development.
  • Lead program evaluations, learning sessions, and knowledge management.
  • Build M&E capacity among Wildlife Management Area members and community stakeholders.

Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Project Management, Development Studies, Environmental Science, or related fields.

  • Skills in data analysis, Excel, SPSS, Stata, R, KoboToolbox, ODK, or similar digital tools.
  • Excellent report writing, analytical, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
