The role is based within the Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC) in Dar es Salaam.


 Position Summary

The Medical Assistant will support either:

  •  Call Centre Operations, or
  •  Reception & Data Processing Unit

Flexibility between both units is required.


 Key Responsibilities

1. Call Centre Duties

  • Provide health assessment information to migrants via phone
  • Register migrants in IOM systems
  • Schedule and confirm medical appointments
  • Maintain appointment lists and daily statistics
  • Support customer satisfaction tracking
  • Communicate messages between medical staff and applicants

2. Reception & Data Entry Duties

  • Register applicants and explain procedures
  • Verify identity of applicants
  • Enter biodata into databases
  • Take and upload applicant photos
  • Print medical and consent forms
  • Handle medical files and documentation
  • Manage courier transmission of documents
  • Maintain filing and records systems
  • Handle payment documentation copies

3. General Duties

  • Perform data processing tasks
  • Maintain records and reports
  • Support administrative tasks
  • Perform any other assigned duties

 Qualifications

Option 1

  • University Degree + 3 years relevant experience

OR Option 2

  • Secondary School Certificate + 5 years relevant experience

Additional Advantage

  • Certificate in IT or Data Entry

 Required Experience

  • Data entry or call centre experience (preferably medical setting)
  • Typing speed: 60+ words per minute
  • Knowledge of data management systems
  • Customer care experience
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office required)
  • Experience with NGOs/international organizations (advantage)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology (advantage)
  • Experience with systems such as:
    • Power BI
    • SQL
    • Electronic Health Records (EHRs)
