RELI Africa is a member-driven network of civil society organizations working across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda to strengthen education systems and ensure that all children access equitable and quality education. The organization promotes evidence-based, equity-driven, and locally led education reforms through collaboration, learning, and advocacy.

RELI Africa operates through four thematic areas including Teacher Development and Support, Values and Life Skills, Equity and Inclusive Education, and Accountability. At the country level, RELI Africa convenes members through annual and regional meetings, peer learning sessions, and coordination forums to advance shared education goals.

RELI Africa is seeking a qualified and motivated candidate to fill the position of Program Assistant – Tanzania.

Job Purpose

  • Provide administrative, logistical, and coordination support to the Tanzania Country Coordinator

  • Support effective planning, implementation, documentation, and follow-up of country-level activities

  • Contribute to timely delivery of activities within budget and aligned to the country strategic plan

Key Responsibilities

Planning and Logistical Support

  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, trainings, and learning events including venues, accommodation, flights, and transport

  • Schedule meetings and manage the country events calendar

  • Track learning activities and support preparation of monthly activity updates

  • Prepare procurement needs and meeting materials including printing and document dissemination

  • Ensure timely requisitions for venues, transport, and workshop or conference materials

Communication and Visibility

  • Support internal communication among RELI members at country level

  • Assist in preparation and dissemination of external communications via email, website, and social media

  • Coordinate weekly RELI updates with the Country Coordinator and thematic leaders

Meetings and Documentation

  • Take meeting minutes and prepare reports for stakeholders

  • Track action points, monitor deadlines, and follow up on agreed actions

  • Send meeting reminders and follow-up communications

  • Maintain organized records of files, reports, presentations, and learning materials

Other Support

  • Participate in network meetings, staff meetings, and retreats

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Country Coordinator or Senior Officers

Key Deliverables

  • Well-organized country meetings, convenings, and learning events

  • Timely logistical arrangements and procurement requests

  • Monthly activity updates and reports

  • Accurate meeting minutes and action trackers

  • Well-maintained filing and documentation system

Required Qualifications and Experience

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, Project Management, Development Studies, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or related field

Work Experience

  • At least three (3) years’ experience in program logistics support and event management

  • Prior experience in a development or non-profit organization is an added advantage

Working Conditions

  • Duty Station: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

  • Reporting To: Tanzania Country Coordinator

  • Contract Duration: One year, renewable subject to performance and funding

  • Hybrid working arrangement with approximately 50% remote and 50% office-based

  • In-country travel requirement of up to 30%
