Jaza Energy Inc is hiring a Field Technician (Renewable Energy / Electrical Engineering) to support and maintain reliable technical operations across its energy hubs. This role is ideal for technically skilled professionals passionate about clean energy, field operations, and system reliability.

Since 2022, Jaza has completed over 4 million battery swaps, delivering clean and affordable energy to approximately 225,000 people. Jaza also empowers women from local communities, known as Jaza Stars, to operate the service and drive local economic growth.
Job Summary
The Field Technician is responsible for owning technical operations within an assigned region, ensuring reliable energy systems and maximum hub uptime. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and technical monitoring to support uninterrupted service delivery.
Key Accountabilities
Ensure energy uptime in the assigned cluster is maintained at a minimum of 99.9%
Maintain pack health at 98%, with no more than 2% defective packs at any time
Key Responsibilities
Continuously monitor hub energy systems to prevent downtime
Troubleshoot defective packs and ensure accurate data collection and logging
Monitor Swap% and PV% at all hubs and escalate hubs exceeding 80% thresholds
Conduct hub commissioning, testing, and provide sign-off for hub go-live
Set up hub phones and controllers and maintain accurate dashboard records
Log, update, respond to, and escalate technical issues through GitLab
Remotely troubleshoot and resolve hub performance issues
Travel to hubs for on-site troubleshooting and repairs when required
Perform routine maintenance of hub energy systems
Ensure reliable hub connectivity
Monitor and review technical performance reports
Test, troubleshoot, and repair defective products and components
Maintain accurate inventory records for hub equipment and components
Communicate technical issues clearly to the Regional Coordinator
Stay updated on technologies and procedures through the Jaza Tech Handbook
Test new products and firmware as required
Qualifications and Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Renewable Energy Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electronic or electrical systems is highly desirable
Familiarity with diagnostic tools, software, and data analysis applications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take initiative
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
