Job Purpose
The Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for
designing, implementing, and monitoring learning programs, competency
frameworks, leadership development initiatives, and performance culture
interventions.
The role ensures the organization builds a skilled,
engaged, and future-ready workforce capable of delivering strategic
business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
A. Learning & Development Strategy
- Design
and implement the annual Learning & Development (L&D) Plan aligned
with business needs.
- Conduct Training
Needs Assessments (TNA) using data-driven methods.
- Develop
programs supporting:
- Capability
building
- Digital
skills
- Editorial
excellence
- Commercial
growth
- Leadership
effectiveness
- Measure
learning impact using KPIs, ROI frameworks, and performance
outcomes.
B. Competency Framework & Talent Development
- Lead
implementation and continuous improvement of the Competency
Framework.
- Integrate
competencies into:
- Recruitment
- Performance
management
- Promotions
- Leadership
programs
- Facilitate
talent reviews and capability gap assessments.
C. Leadership Development
- Design
programs for:
- Emerging
leaders
- Supervisors
- Managers
- Senior
leadership
- Manage 360°
assessments and coach managers on development planning.
- Support
succession planning through targeted learning pathways.
D. Performance Culture & Engagement
- Support
implementation of the Employee Performance Management System
(EPMS).
- Align
KPIs, competencies, and behavioral expectations.
- Train
staff on performance management tools.
- Support
engagement initiatives such as:
- Lunch
& Learn sessions
- Team
development programs
E. Learning Management System (LMS)
- Develop
and manage digital learning content.
- Track
learner progress, certifications, and analytics.
- Expand
digital learning solutions to improve accessibility and reduce costs.
F. Training Coordination
- Manage
end-to-end training execution (internal & external).
- Coordinate
with trainers, vendors, and departmental heads.
G. Knowledge Management
- Develop
toolkits, playbooks, policies, and SOPs.
- Maintain
a central repository of learning resources.
- Support
knowledge retention initiatives.
H. Compliance & Audit Support
- Maintain
accurate training records and compliance documentation.
- Support
HR and training-related audits.
- Ensure
alignment with company policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s
degree in:

Development or related field
- Professional
certification in L&D, Talent Management, HRBP, or Coaching is
an added advantage.
Experience
- 3–5
years’ experience in:
- Learning
& Development
- Talent

- Proven
experience in designing and delivering training programs.
- Experience
with:

management systems
- Competency

- Experience
with LMS or digital learning tools is an advantage.
