Job Purpose

Design, implement, and manage people-centered systems that support organizational performance, employee engagement, and compliance with Tanzanian labour laws
-
Provide strategic HR leadership while overseeing day-to-day people operations

Promote a productive, compliant, and values-driven workplace
Key Deliverables

Develop, review, communicate, and implement HR policies and procedures

Coordinate performance management processes

Coordinate learning and development programs

Champion staff welfare and wellbeing initiatives

Facilitate disciplinary and grievance management
Key Duties and Responsibilities
People Strategy and Workforce Planning
-
Develop and implement people operations strategies aligned with organizational goals
-
Lead workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational design
-
Provide strategic HR advice to leadership
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
-
Oversee recruitment and selection processes in line with labour laws
-
Ensure effective onboarding and induction for all employees
-
Build talent pipelines and employer branding initiatives
Performance Management and Employee Development
-
Implement and manage performance management systems
-
Support managers in KPIs setting, appraisals, and performance improvement plans
-
Coordinate learning and development and capacity-building programs
Employee Relations and Engagement
-
Advise staff and managers on employee relations matters
-
Manage disciplinary cases, grievances, and conflict resolution
-
Drive employee engagement, wellbeing, and culture initiatives
Compensation, Benefits, and Payroll Oversight
-
Manage salary structures, benefits, and payroll processes
-
Ensure compliance with PAYE, NSSF, WCF, NHIF, and other statutory bodies
-
Support annual salary reviews and reward frameworks
HR Policies, Compliance, and Risk Management
-
Develop and enforce HR policies in line with Tanzanian labour laws
-
Ensure compliance with contracts, audits, and labour inspections
-
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
HR Systems and Reporting
-
Manage HRIS and people data
-
Prepare HR reports on headcount, turnover, absenteeism, and compliance
-
Improve HR processes and systems continuously
Leadership and Governance

Lead and mentor People Operations staff
-
Promote ethical HR practices and organizational values
-
Support change management initiatives
-
Perform any other duty assigned by the Supervisor

Minimum Requirements
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
-
HR professional certification
Experience
-
Minimum 6 years’ experience in HR practice
-
At least 2 years in a management role
