Position: Deputy Finance Coordinator
Reports to: Finance Coordinator
Duty Station: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Start Date: 1 April 2026
Contract: Full-time, Fixed-term (renewable)
Main Purpose
Support the Finance Coordinator in managing financial strategies, policies, internal controls, and financial reporting
Act as Finance Coordinator in their absence
Ensure transparent, accurate, and timely financial management in line with MSF standards
Key Responsibilities
Support budgeting, financial planning, and monitoring of mission activities
Assist in managing accounting, treasury, and financial risk control
Ensure compliance with MSF financial policies and Tanzanian legal framework
Monitor expenses versus budgets and propose corrective actions
Support donor funding management and financial reporting
Participate in monthly and annual financial closing
Support HR-related financial processes and team supervision
Contribute to emergency preparedness from a financial perspective
Context-Specific Duties
Support financial and tax compliance with Government of Tanzania agreements
Monitor financial impact of operational changes and project scale-downs
Support financial planning for MSF–MoH co-managed projects
Participate in multi-year financial planning and sustainability analysis
Minimum Qualifications
Degree in Economics, Finance, or related field
Experience
At least 2 years’ experience in budget management
At least 2 years’ experience in team management
NGO or MSF experience is an added advantage
Knowledge and Skills
Computer literacy in Word, Excel, ERP systems, and internet
Strong analytical, leadership, and teamwork skills
Language Requirements
English – required
Swahili – required
Salary and Benefits
Salary Grade: 12
Starting basic salary: TZS 7,700,000
